He has been a member of the Australian Shop&Office Industry Association (ASOFIA) since 1999 and has served in the past as National President, President of the New SouthWales division and Chair of the Professional Conduct Committee. He is also a Qualified Carpenter and Joiner and member of the Master Builders Association. According to Craig, clients of all sizes are attracted to Alexander Interiors due to the company’s experience, quality workmanship and results-focused approach. Clients also appreciate their ability to produce quick turnaround times whilst adhering to the principles and standards of ASOFIA. “We ensure that we deliver what the client likes whilst overcoming any obstacles or hurdles that we face along the way,” Craig says. “Problems often arise throughout the course of a project, so we find solutions to work around those problems.” This means selecting the right individuals to carry out the contracts. In addition to employing an experienced group of fulltime staff members who share Craig’s “can-do attitude,” Alexander Interiors also rely upon a core group of proven subcontractors and

ASOFIA is widely regarded as the leading association within Australia’s shop-fitting industry. Every other year, they take great pride in handing out awards to members who exhibit the highest standards in workmanship. Since its inception, Alexander Interiors has been recognised several times by the association, including: 2006/2007 $500,001 to $1 million category winner for Watermark Books at Sydney Qantas Airport Terminal; 2008/2009 $500,001 to $1 million category and Best Use of Sponsor Product winner for Newslink/Hub Convenience/ Discover Store at Cairns Domestic Airport; 2009/2010 NSW Interior Fitout of the Year for Scanlan & Theodore at Chatswood Chase; and 2011/2012 Interior Fitouts $500,001 to $1 million category winner for Mecca Cosmetica at Myer Melbourne. INDUSTRY LEADERS

Alexander Interiors | “We just try to give our clients the best quality thatwe’re able todeliver, and I feel our standards are very high – and that’s reflected in some of the accolades we’ve received from ASOFIA,” says Craig. “I think they’re great recognition in our industry. They build on our brand and give us opportunities for new work. We definitely value and cherish them.” Most recently, at the 2014/2015 ASOFIA Interior Fitout Awards, Alexander Interiors added four more prestigious industry accolades to their collection. The company won the Interior Fitout Food/Restaurant $500,000 to $1 million category for their work on A Little Something, a retail shop in Sydney International Airport. Secondly, they won the Interior Fitout Medical category for the highly contemporary Bump IVF clinic in Mosman. On top of that, Alexander Interiors won the Interior Fitout Health & Beauty category for their work on Mecca Cosmetica − a project that showcased Alexander Interiors ability to produce award-winning work on short notice. “That particular job was for a regular cli-

It was quite difficult having to build while it was still being designed, but we’ve had a very good association with the architects over many years and were able to work closely with them to come up with a fantastic looking shop for the client at the end of the day.” Additionally, Alexander Interiors won New South Wales Interior Fitout of the Year for MaxMarra, which was “very exciting” for Craig because he was directly involved in the project from the outset and had influence over many key aspects, including concept, site selection and planning. He also worked very closely with the attending architects to ensure the designs adhered to Australian standards and building codes whilst also complying with the building’s heritage status. After nearly ten months of planning, Al-

The sizeable project included a mezzanine, an added floor and “major work” to the building’s shop front, which served as just one of several worksite hindrances. “The shop front was 12 metres high, so there were many complexities in finishing off the shop front works,” Craig says. “It was also on a main street in Brisbane, so the working hours were restricted. It had some challenges, but they were all overcome and it looked fantastic when it was finished.” Looking ahead, Craig reveals that the company’s main priority is securing a wider range of clients whilst building on their current relationships to engender a steady workflow. They will also maintain their exceptionally high standards of quality workmanship and client satisfaction with the aim of producing more award-winning results. “We’ve got a fantastically dedicated team here. We’re only a small team, but I feel we produce amazing results,” he concludes. “We work very, very hard for our clients, and I think that’s reflected in our outcomes.”
