Industrial Galvanizers | Located in Melbourne, the Austin Hospital Car Park is a six-storey, 18,000 square meter multilevel extension providing the hospital with an additional 752 car spaces. Industrial Galvanizers were commissioned to provideHDG coating for the 1500 tonnes of structural steel used to build the structure “due to its long life, minimal maintenance and low whole of life cost” − in fact, the coating is expected to outlast the building’s lifespan of fifty years. For their efforts on the Austin Hospital Car Park, Industrial Galvanizers won the ‘Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing International Award 2015’ from the American Galvanizers Association and were also named as finalists for the Galvanizing Association of Australia’s ‘Sorel Award 2014.’ On the $760 million Star City Casino redevelopment, Industrial Galvanizers supplied the protective metal coating for the structural steel used in the facility’s 300 tonne steel frame − which supports its internal walls and external glass façade − using the same HDG coating process.
