The history of Poly-Tek began 16 year ago in the polystyrene world. According to Neil Allen, the Director of the company, the intervening years have seen the company grow and move into new markets while remaining family-owned and locally operated. “We started in the polystyrene industry,” Neil recalls. “We originally made polystyrene products such as flotation devices for marinas. It wasn’t until later on that we expanded into the building and construction world, where today we manufacture products that are based around adding a textured finish, also called a rendered finish, to a number of different products.” “Our first product was a molding that goes around a house,up around the windows,” he explains.“It’s practically like an architectural feature for homes.
