Over the years, the dedicated team at Quattro has done that by creating unique custom homes, transforming existing homes, and building unit developments for both first time and sophisticated investors. “With all of our projects, our goal is to provide an exemplary service,” says Michael Lamattina, Managing Director. “That’s what we’ve built our reputation on, and we’re always trying to build on it even further.” Michael’s reputation has been growing ever since he started working in the building industry at a young age. He first envisioned starting his own company after he met Vic Santella – his similarly experienced business partner. While working on a project together, the pair quickly formed a strong level of trust, and teamed up to launch their own company in 2003. Quattro Homes was founded with the aim of capitalizing on both Michael and Vic’s experience in the mid-to-high-end home market. From the start, their shared vision was to build a small, professional business that could provide a focused service to a loyal client base.

Their services include new home construction, renovations and additions, and unit developments for investment partners. In each of those service sectors, Michael says what sets Quattro apart is the way they interact with customers. “We’re all really down-to-earth people, and we have a never-say-die attitude,” he explains. “It doesn’t matter what problems come up for our clients – we’ll work constantly to find a solution.” When Quattro was founded, the company’s very first project was the result of a referral – so were the next ten projects. Throughout the intervening decade, Michael estimates that 90 per cent of the company’s work has been earned the same way. He credits those strong customer relation-
Quattro Homes | 5 ships to the company’s commitment at all levels. “We’re passionate about getting the details right, and achieving the highest quality outcome,” he explains. “We bring that level of commitment to everything they do, and we prove it to clients with the work we produce.” That commitment is also shared by Quattro’s roster of highly skilled tradespeople – many of whomhave been working with the company since
6 | Quattro Homes the beginning. “Having tried and true relationships with our subcontractor and supplier base is fundamentally important to building a strong performing team on-site,” Michael says. “We consider trade relations one of the most important aspects of our business, and that keeps the quality of our projects high.” “Perth is a small community in many ways,” he adds. “There may be almost two million people, but your reputation spreads – people hear about you. We’ve been successful because we’ve earned a strong reputation among both clients and subcontractors.” INDUSTRY RECOGNISED Quattro strives to make every single project an award-winner – an effort which has not gone unnoticed. Since 2008, more than a dozen of the company’s jobs have been recognised with awards from the HIA or MBA. “We value that a lot,” says Michael of the industry recognition. “We’re always looking for an

And if our peers think that we’re good at what we do, or better-than-average at what we do, then we feel like we’re on the right path.” “It’s not just about the award,” he explains. “It’s about proving we’re on the right track.” Most recently, Quattro Homes won two accolades at the 2013MBA Perth Housing Awards, in the categories for Contract Home $8000,000 to $1 Million, and Alteration/Addition $1 Million & Over. Both of the winning projects presented an array of unique challenges, and Michael says it was Quattro’s ability to overcome those obstacles that earned them the recognition. Additionally, both homes boasted an extremely detailed and consistent level of finish, which greatly impressed the MBA judges. Michael credits that consistency to the skill of the company’s tradespeople, most of whom have received multiple awards along with Quattro for their projects. Moving forward, Michael wants the company to keep growing their list of awards, as well as keep bolstering their reputation as a “builder to trust.”Despite their success to date, Michael believes that the company still has a long way to go. “We respect the builders that have been out there for 30 to 40 years and have won the major awards,” he says. “That’s who we aspire to be.” It’s not about volume, Michael clarifies – Quattro Homes is happy building 10 to 20 homes a year, as long as the quality is high and the work is challenging. He says that for him and Vic, building quality homes is not just their job – it’s their life. “That’s how we approach what we do,” he says. “That’s earned us a lot of success over the years, and hopefully will continue to do so.”
