They also called the timber and sandstone theme “breathtaking.” For that project, RWStidwill created their own special hardwood joinery using respected shipwright Michael Cardiff, a service they are capable of providing to all of their clients. Their team is passionate about working with timber, Ryan says, so the company has their own factory facilities to “ensure nothing less than perfection can be provided.” In 2012, RW Stidwill also won regional awards for Renovations and Additions Project of the Year, and Renovations and Additions Project Over $800,000. The previous year, they won two national HIA awards for Home of the Year and Custom Home of the Year, for a project on Scotland Island. “To be recognised in the industry by your peers for quality of workmanship is really nice,” Ryan says. “My whole team appreciates it. The awards aren’t just for me – they’re for everybody who works with us.” Ryan credits the company’s consistent award-winning success to the passion of his team. That passion, he says, fuels their hard work and attention to detail, which impresses the judges.
