Wollondilly Shire Council

| Wollondilly Shire Council More than 11,000 jobs are expected be focused around its new town centre, neighbourhood centres and employment zones. “That’s a dominant project that we expect to really change the shape of the Shire,” Tate says. “It’s very exciting for all involved, and Council is determined to get it right.” Wilton Junction – which is still in the planning stages – is far from the only development happening in the region. According to Tate, Wollondilly Shire Council is one of the busiest in NSW in terms of development applications. He estimates they have roughly 40 currently on the books of various sizes. “That’s a strong indicator of the interest we’re attracting in our area,” he says. “Particularly when it comes to housing development – people really see the potential of Wollondilly and what we have to offer here.” “That’s exciting, but it’s also going to be a challenge for our Shire,” he adds. “Even as we grow, we will have to maintain the balance between our urban and rural perspectives.” Moving forward, Tate says that’s the vision – achieving balance. “Council is committed to maintaining what makes Wollondilly unique and special as it is,” he concludes. “We won’t compromise on our rural and agricultural nature. At the same, we will increase job opportunities and find room for industries to grow and evolve in our area.”
