Welcome to the latest issue of Construction Source Australia, the magazine that highlights the best in building and building products across the country. For this edition, we have shown our spotlight on Devrite Constructions, one of Perth’s most highly-decorated custom home builders. Since they were first recognized in 2009, they have been a finalist or winner in more than 50 categories between the MBA and HIA’s award programs. They have won prizes for everything from townhouses and villas, to spec homes, custom homes for clients, ancillary dwellings, and more. They have also been repeatedly recognised for excellence in energy efficiency, water efficiency, and liveability. We talked to owners Ron and Jay Mangano about that award-winning consistency and the values that power them. Also in this issue is John Holland, one of Australia’s premier specialists in engineering and contracting. They work all over the country, across a broad range of building sectors – including the health sector, where they have delivered many industry-leading hospitals and medical facilities. In this edition, we take a look at an example of such a facility – the award-winning Joondalup Health Campus Redevelopment in Western Australia, which was valued at roughly $393 million. Hansen Yuncken, meanwhile, is also one of Australia’s leading building contractors on a national scale. In their roughly century-long history, they have successfully delivered thousands of projects, many of them regionally and nationally-recognized by bodies such as the Australian Institute of Building (AIB). For example, they delivered the Projects&Engineering Building inMelbourne’s Tullamarine Airport, for which they wonmultiple AIB Awards. We talked to the project manager on that job about everything that went into that successful result.
