The company was founded by Chris, a building industry veteran with over 15 years’ experience in the construction management. He comes from a construction family, and he started his own career in the industry as a plasterer. He formed Symmetric Homes with his wife Katya in 2008, and for several years it was just the two of them. Eventually, an investor client trusted them with over 10 homes on Gatestone Road in Epping. After proving their worth on those projects, the company took off. Over the past couple years Symmetric’s growth has particularly accelerated. In that time, they have constructed their own four-storey office space, they have exponentially expanded their staff, and they have launched three sister companies. These days, Symmetric Homes takes on about 200 homes per year. Their main focus is “doing custom builds, but for volume building prices,” say Derek Ngan, Head of Sales and Business Development. Currently, the company is also focusing on developing their ownprojects. They starteddown that path only recently, when they purchased about 60 lots in Point Cook and started building townhomes. They followed that up with the purchase of about 90 lots in Melton, which they are pre-selling now.
