Häuslein Tiny House Co. is a tiny home company based in Port Macquarie, NSW. Since their inception in 2017, they have become one of the main tiny home construction companies in Australia, doing business all over the country for both commercial and residential projects. Using a unique style for their builds, coupled with their director’s many years’ experience in the joinery and construction industry, Häuslein has been able to gain a large amount of the market share in Australia and is continuing to grow today. Häuslein started when one of its directors, Scott Rohdich, came to a crossroads in his career about five years ago. After working long hours since he was a teenager in construction, it had taken a toll on his back and body, leaving him with the desire for a career change. Having built a shipping container home alongside his wife Sarah back in 2012, Scott was interested in doing something similar as a commercial venture. After seeing the success of tiny homes in the USA, Scott realized that the market for tiny homes was still up and coming in Australia, leading him to choose this as his venture and change of career. Thus, Häuslein was born, with his wife and two of his best friends as business partners. The name in German means ‘small house’ or ‘cottage.’ Scott’s extensive career in construction, and personal experience living tiny, gave him a unique perspective when it came to creating tiny homes. After conducting some research in his target market, he adopted a more Scandinavian style Häuslein’s style.
