In the years since, the prizes have continued to accumulate. In 2021, at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects Awards, the parklands won the category for ‘Excellence in Parks and Open Spaces.’ The Cairns Performing Arts Centre has also been repeatedly award-recognized. Most notably, in 2021, CA Architects and Cox Architecture were rewarded for their work on the project with the Queensland Architecture medallion – which is the highest honour of the AIA’s state architecture awards. The same year, the two companies also received the FDG Stanley Award for Public Architecture.
