“We have carved out that niche,” Matt says. “In that sector, we’re now considered one of the industry leaders along the Gold Coast, northern New South Wales, and Brisbane.” Matt credits Alroe Constructions’ rapid growth in that sector to their “complete service solution.” He says that complete service extremely valuable to small-to-medium developers, because many of them are “time poor.” Finding and hiring individual consultants at every phase of a development can be extremely time-consuming, but when they work with Alroe they only ever have to deal with one point of contact. “If you’re a local developer and you’re busy, we can take a lot of work off your plate,” Matt says. “Our goal is not just to work with a client one time,” he adds. “Our goal is to build long-term, sustainable relationships. We want to deliver an exceptional service and an exceptional product, and we want our clients to achieve their objectives.” Already, Matt says that Alroe Constructions has built repeat relationships with about 10 core developers. They work with those developers on multiple sites per year. Some are now on their seventh or eighth builds with Alroe. “Developing those long, ongoing relationships is of paramount importance to us,” Matt says. “We want our clients to be successful, because that’s when we’re successful.” Again, Matt credits that loyalty and success to the depth of Alroe Constructions’ service offering – but he also says the quality of their builds goes a long way. He credits that quality, in turn, to the company’s commitment to continuous improvement. “We’ve been doing this for a long time,” he says. “We haven’t always been perfect, and I don’t think we ever will be – because when you start thinking your perfect, that’s when you stop trying to improve. That’s when complacency slips in. We don’t ever want that to happen, we want to always be pushing ourselves.” For example, to keep themselves in check, Alroe Constructions brings on a third-party company to inspect every single project prior to handover. They’ll run their own independent check and deliver their own independent report, and if they notice any defects or deficiencies, the team at Alroe will make sure they are resolved before the client sees them. That’s not to say that Alroe’s own team is anything less than diligent. In fact, company employs an accomplished roster of site supervisors and direct trades, so they can perform a lot of work in-house, and for the work they can’t perform directly, they rely on a trusted team of tried-andproven subcontractors they have been working with for many years. “They know that we’ve got a long pipeline full of work, and they know they have to perform to a high standard,” Matt says. “And we’ve grown alongside them. As our business has grown, so has theirs. We want them to be successful, just like our clients.” YDL Stone is an example of a longstanding partner. They are a family-owned company that specializes in the manufacturing and exporting of various stones to the local and overseas market. Over the years, they have also expanded to supply cabinets and tapeware, and they have become a one-stop-shop solution for interior decoration. What sets them apart is their commitment to people and customer relationships – which is exactly what Alroe looks for in their partners. THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE AUSTRALIA
