The $2-to-$5 million project was a leachate system enabling works at the Summerhill Waste Management Facility for Newcastle City Council. Ironbuilt was awarded that project in 2021 and completed it in November 2023. It focused on the construction of a new leachate pond and associated pumping infrastructure. This complex undertaking required Ironbuilt Infrastructure to manage a diverse scope of work, including the construction of a new leachate pond and pumping system, utility and drainage upgrades, a new car park, and a range of ancillary works. “As part of that pond design, we had to integrate the new system with the existing system while ensuring the live leachate management and the current leachate system were capable of managing the current flows,” says Matthew. Along with providing exceptional customer service and project management, growth is the key to the future for Ironbuilt Infrastructure, says Matthew. “We’re consolidating ourselves over the next year or two and building our team. The plan in next five years is to push to a $50 million turnover.” DECEMBER 2024
