Turner Plus is a company dedicated to constructing builds of excellence across Tasmania’s North West Coast. Founder and director Phil Turner moved to the region almost 15 years ago and fell in love. Since then, he and his team have been involved in a long list of successful new builds, renovations, restorations, and commercial projects. In the process of delivering those projects, they have become known for their exceptional workmanship and for the strength of their relationships – not only with clients, but also team members and contractors. “We place great value on the relationships we build, because we know strong communication leads to trust, respect, and confidence in our ability to deliver a quality end project,” Phil says. Phil began as his career in construction as a carpenter’s apprentice with a heritage restoration company in Brisbane in 1995. “I got hired not because I was the best, but because of my tenacity,” he says. Later he started a business with a friend in 2000. The partnership lasted for about three years until the company rebranded as Turner Plus. Phil previously operated a successful building business in Queensland, which saw some tough times during the Global Financial Crisis in 2008. Learning some difficult lessons from the ordeal, Phil moved to Tasmania with his family in 2010 for a fresh start. “We fell in love with the rural town of Sheffield, so we made it our new home.” It was from there that the original company began. Phil’s high-quality work and exacting standards quickly earned the company acclaim and attention. In 2018, the company expanded and moved to Devonport. In early 2023, they rebranded as Turner Plus.
