For a company that uses a lot of visual technology, it’s not surprising that most of Destination Living’s marketing is visual. “We use social media to illustrate what we do,” says Mike. We let the work do the work for us. We’re looking for clients who are looking for how we approach a project.” The company provides a personalized, design-led building program, which none of their competitors do. That sets Destination Living apart in the market. More and more, people bring up the topic of sustainability when discussing ideas for a new home, and Destination Living is working to comply. “We’ve looked into an insulated panel system, and designed a display home down to .7 air changes per hour,” says Mike. “We went through the Houzz energy rating system and it ended up with a good rating. One of our clients will be looking at this energy efficient system next week. We’re also working on a modular product utilizing high performance systems.” What does the future hold for Destination Living? According to Mike, the company may consider opening an office in Sydney, but not for at least another two years. In the meantime, they just want to keep getting better and more efficient at what they do. “We’re at a good size and scale now, so we’re going to continue to consolidate the team.” JULY 2024
