“I make their business my business. I understand their every need and want. Particularly with where their money should be spent. I’ve created a culture in the company where most of my staff have learned to understand and respect money. We’re building people’s dreams. That’s what we believe.” According to Nancy, Acustruct’s primary commitment is to families enjoying their new homes. That’s why their customer service focuses on relating to their clients, understanding their needs, and personalizing their design to meet those needs. “I’m a working mom and I know what I want in a home to make it easy to maintain for the best value,” she explains. “I speak their language.” “We’re sometimes not just a builder,” says Nancy. “We’re the police, counsellors, we’re everything and anything because it is an emotional ride for everybody. It’s a lot of money. There are relationships at stake and there are a lot of hours that go into a project. We have to navigate through all those factors. Together with the right mindset and the right tools in place we do a damn good job.” Nancy and Danny approach their relationships with staff and subcontractors with the same level of care and attention as they do clients. “I sit amongst the staff,” Nancy says. “I don’t have a separate office. And some of our people – particularly our tradesmen – have been working together so long that they understand each other without speaking.” JULY 2024
