have lots of fun in the office, but we also look out for each other and care for each other as well.” One important way the company is focusing on employee well-being is through membership in Mates in Construction. “Mental health is a big thing, especially in the construction industry,” Ben says. “We run workshops and whatnot to make sure there’s awareness across our company as to the risks in that area.” “There’s also a very high level of trust in our team,” Ben continues. “As well as that, we have a very flat structure. We don’t have a very stiff and starchy hierarchy. All the owners of the company and those on the management team are very approachable.” He goes on to explain that each employee is part of the team. “Everyone is crucial, everyone is listened to. There’s no one who’s a non-entity. They’re all crucial parts of a highly effective operation. He says that contributes to Spaceful being a very highly effective operation. It doesn’t matter if you’re very senior and experienced or you’re someone who’s just coming out of university, everyone’s voice is heard. Another perk, which would be expected in their line of work, is that they provide a great setting in which to do business. “And, on top of that, our office spaces are worldclass offices, so they’re nice places for our staff to come to each day,” Ben says.
