It is well known that building surveyors help play an important role to ensure buildings are energy efficient, says Romeo. At Arki Building Surveyors, they are continually investigating and evolving their practices to ensure a positive impact on the environment. For example, in 2016 they made the decision to go ‘paperless.’ This has resulted in Arki vastly reducing their paper consumption – which Romeo largely credits to their cloud-based building surveying software program. Furthermore, in 2019, the company’s mission was to begin planting a tree for every building permit issued, which equated to over 1,000’s trees planted. “It’s been a fantastic way for Arki to give back to the environment and help reduce the carbon footprint of our business,” says Romeo.
