Over the years, Tonic Projects has worked hard to form strong and lasting relationships with a variety of building suppliers. Building an extensive and varied network has been important, Sean explains, because “due to our boutique custom nature, we don’t use a lot of the same product on each job.” “If we were doing 500 homes a year we’d be using a lot of repeat products on each job, but with a hospitality venue for example there’s a lot of non-standard and custom products and finishes, such as tiles, stone, joinery and other finishes. That means we need to have a broad range of suppliers we lean on. We’re not doing volume orders from any one supplier.” When they find a supplier they like, however, Tonic Projects strives to stick with them for the long haul.
