With more than 40 years invested in the brick cutting industry, Empire Brick is Australia’s leader in brick and rail cladding systems. Throughout their history, they have developed unique brick cutting facilities and processes enabling them to cut almost any brick, Australian or imported, and they have built a reputation as problem solvers. No matter the project type or design challenge – whether the bricks are for a multi-story or commercial building, a shop, or home, or simply a feature wall – Empire Brick is capable of guiding their clients to the right brick choice and providing a solution to their problems. “We do everything from a couple square metres in a little Dominos Pizza takeout up to a 27-story prefabricated building, and everything in between,” says General Manager Coralee Simmons. Empire Brick was first founded in the early 1980s with the Mann family who were involved in the Vinyl Cladding industry and Pat Slee who was Sales Manager with Austral Bricks at that time. “We started talking and thought if we can do vinyl, why not brick cladding?” recalls Coralee. Pat left Austral back in 1983 to concentrate on the development and growth of Empire Brick and now owns the company and works as a technical consultant. Today, Empire Brick is based in Queensland, with a manufacturing facility in the city of Bundaberg. Whilst having recently closed their cutting plant in NSW, they are in the process of securing a new location and re establishing and expanding their production capacity very soon back in NSW.
