Another perk of the IGLU project is no scaffolding was needed for installation, says Coralee. It was all prefabricated off-site in panels that were assembled from inside the building and put up on the outside. The project was done through Kane Constructions. “They chose our system because it is lightweight, it maximized floorspace, and it was easy to install,” says Coralee. “The panels were prefabricated offsite, brought in on trucks, and clicked together like Lego bricks.” Another award-winning project they were involved with were the two-building, 24-unit Kurraba Residences luxury apartments in Sydney, located in a prestigious harbour-side suburb less than five kilometres north of the CBD. “They’re beautiful buildings with scallop detailing on the outside,” says Coralee. “This project highlights the flexibility of our system, to be able to deal with the change of direction of the standard brickwork look, incorporating both stretcher and soldier bonds with curves also added in. It’s something a bit different.” This project received two Asia Property Awards in 2020 for developers Thirdi Group and Phoenix Property Investors – ‘Best Development Apartment Australia’ and ‘Best Apartment Development New South Wales,’ respectively.
