Looking to the future, Empire Brick is focussed on maintaining the good service for their customers and doing what they say they’re going to do. They are also focused on mitigating their negative impact on the environment through activities like responsible recycling. “We try not to impact the environment in our processes. We do recycle our waste. When we cut the bricks, we have a recycling plant right next door to us. They crush it up and supply it as fill and decorative garden mulch.” According to Coralee, Empire Brick is also interested in becoming a more active participant in industry associations moving forward. Recently, the Australian organisation ‘Think Brick’ – which represents the clay brick and paver manufacturers of Australia – invited Empire Brick to join. “Until recently they didn’t include thin brick facing companies under their umbrella. Now they do and they’ve even produced a technical manual detailing the use and installation of thin brick facings,” says Coralee. Always getting better SEPTEMBER 2024
