Since forming almost five years ago, Quantek Mechanical has quickly become a recognized leader in the mechanical services industry across New South Wales. Diego Londono, the founder and owner of the company, credits their rapid growth in size and renown to the values upon which the company was founded – values including resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to quality. “I was born to be an entrepreneur,” Diego says, “and after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I was motivated to rebuild a business defined by strong values and skilled workmanship.” Diego first came to Australia from Colombia in 2007. Arriving with limited English skills, he initially undertook English studies and entry-level jobs before seeking work aligned with his industrial engineering background. A chance opportunity came when a fellow Colombian offered him a role gaining hands-on experience in mechanical installations, sparking a passion for the trade. Over time, Diego honed his skills in both factory and field settings, eventually stepping into project management roles. In 2010, he co-founded his first mechanical company with a partner, delivering significant government projects, including hospital expansions and infrastructure developments. Though the partnership ended amicably in 2015, Diego took the lessons learned and pressed forward. Unfortunately, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic presented some serious challenges.
