From those modest beginnings in late 2020, the company has grown steadily to 65 employees, including 57 installers and eight management staff. These days, Quantek’s core expertise lies in mechanical ductwork services, working primarily as subcontractors to larger mechanical service companies engaged by builders on major projects. Diego describes their role as building the “road for air”—the mechanical ducting and air handling systems that regulate airflow in buildings, an essential component of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Coordinating closely with plumbers, lagging contractors, electricians, and others on site, Quantek ensures that their work integrates seamlessly with the broader construction process. Their portfolio is impressive, including Tier 1 government-funded projects such as hospitals and infrastructure works, with recent involvement in Sydney Metro stations and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base at Williamtown. Diego explains that unlike countries such as the US or the UK, Australia lacks comprehensive formal training programs for mechanical ductwork installers. Recognizing this gap, Quantek developed their own rigorous training system—the Quantek Training House— to ensure every installer understands and applies the relevant Australian standards. This system includes instruction on fire damper installation, duct quality, and compliance testing. Clients appreciate this focus on certified competence, recognizing it as a key factor that improves project outcomes.
