Clarke’s team considers all aspects of the potential site when assessing a block of land for commercial or industrial construction. “We’ll check the topography, levels, and surrounding elements that can have flow-on effects with the build,” says Andrew. “With our design process, we’re more interested in understanding the client’s needs and maintaining a cost-effective approach than focusing on something that might win an award. Plus, managing the design and build in-house means the client doesn’t need to navigate the often-tricky relationship between the designer and the builder.” As Clarke’s projects and ambitions have grown, so has their team. They now employ over 25 people in the office and between 60 and 70 on project sites. As the company’s founder and leader, Andrew also remains personally involved in every project they take on, and he handles each commercial development as if it was his own. Although Clarke’s Design & Construct has always prioritized client satisfaction over winning awards, in recent years they have been industry recognized.
