Chateau Architects + Builders, for example, is one of Sydney’s leading luxury custom home building companies, with a history in the city going back over 50 years. To tell their story, we spoke with Alexander McDonald, the company’s construction director, and the son of founder Malcolm McDonald, who first started the business in 1969. We talked about the company’s storied history and about some of their recent landmark homes – including an acclaimed Seaforth home, for which they were awarded an MBA NSW prize for ‘Master Builder of the Year’ and the HIA NSW award for ‘Home of the Year,’ among other accolades. Also featured in this issue is Timpelle, another longstanding, family-owned, and industry-acclaimed company with deep roots in New South Wales. In their case, they have providing custom cabinetry, kitchen design, and full home fit-outs for over 40 years, and they have stood at the forefront of the state’s building industry throughout their industry. Once again, we spoke to the company’s second-generation leader – Joe Timpano founded the company in 1984, and his son Joseph came aboard about 10 years ago. We talked to Joseph about the company’s founding ethos, how that ethos has powered their growth and longevity, and how their full-service approach to joinery eliminates stress for clients. We also highlighted the company’s largest project do date – and we discussed why they want to do more projects like it moving forward.
