Currently, for example, Neilsen is rolling out a series of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), formalizing the environmental data behind its concrete mixes. This step reflects a broader commitment to sustainability and transparency—one that’s becoming increasingly relevant as developers and government agencies look to measure embodied carbon. In line with this direction, Neilsen has developed a low-carbon concrete product, achieving up to 30 per cent lower embodied carbon compared to traditional mixes. Sean sees it as both a responsibility and an opportunity. “It’s about being ready for where the industry is heading,” he explains. “We’re making sure that when our customers want lower-carbon options, we can provide them—without compromising quality or performance.” Looking further ahead, Neilsen is investing in the future at a much deeper level—quite literally.
