Solar systems, water tanks, an infinity-edge glass-end lap pool, and a spacious sauna were all woven into a build of roughly 800-plus square metres, set against a backdrop of mountain ranges and sweeping views that made for spectacular photography at sunrise and sunset. “It was an incredible spot,” Warren says. “The clients trusted us to do their forever home, and it was just a really cool build. The backdrop made for some incredible photos and videos, but I put that success down to our team and our contractors. That project is a great representation of what Innovative is about.” The project also demonstrated the lengths IDBG will go to in order to deliver. Located an hour and 45 minutes from Brisbane, Warren arranged for his team and key contractors to stay on-site in nearby accommodation, ensuring the full IDBG experience could be brought to a remote location without compromise. Moving forward, Warren’s goal is to continue delivering award-worthy projects like that one, and to continue growing the company as a result. However, he acknowledges that there will be challenges ahead, such as Brisbane’s forthcoming 2032 Olympic Games. Those games are very likely to be complicating factor for the local construction industry – a surge of governmentdriven infrastructure work is expected to create a genuine trade shortage, making it harder for builders to retain staff and keep costs predictable.
