“The mentality that we have in our leadership team here is we don’t ask someone to do something unless we’re willing to do it yourself,” Joseph explains. “That means we need to understand how the whole system works and we need to understand everyone’s role in the system. That creates trust, because when we ask team members to do certain tasks, they know we’re not asking them to do anything we couldn’t or wouldn’t do. They know we’re not talking from a position of superiority, but from a position of care, dedication, and integrity.” According to Joseph, that ethos has played a significant role in Timpelle’s growth and evolution – and the company has grown and evolved a lot over the years. These days, they operate across all of New South Wales – from Newcastle and the Hunter region in the north, down the coast to Sussex Inlet and Vincentia, and inland as far as Goulburn and Canberra. All of the company’s products are manufactured in their factory in Prestons and then distributed via a network of installers stationed throughout the state. (Interstate expansion is on the horizon, but for now, the focus remains on doing what the company does best and doing it comprehensively across New South Wales.) Over the years, Timpelle has worked on a variety of project types, but what they have always done best is residential joinery. Today, their work spans a wide range of project sizes. About 80 per cent of the company’s business falls within the project homes sector, where they work with residential builders on new-build fit-outs that typically include kitchens, laundries, and vanities throughout the home.
