successful career but also to enjoy a higher quality of life than he would have had in Ireland. After years serving in client-side budgeting and financial roles, Jamie recognized an opportunity. Many of the builders he worked with were understaffed, particularly when it came to pricing, measuring and estimating projects. Subcontractors were similarly stretched, trying to measure jobs, prepare tenders, and maintain profitability while still managing their day-to-day operations. Jamie saw a gap in the market for a dedicated, detail-oriented quantity surveying firm that could take these pressures off builders and subcontractors, allowing them to focus on project delivery and, importantly, their families. This vision became the foundation for KQS. Ever since then, KQS operations have been rooted in precision, trust, and client service. These days, the firm primarily works with ADCO Constructions, a nationwide Australian company, supporting projects from Western Australia to Queensland. KQS also works with all types of builders in WA, from the tier 3 to the tier 1 builders. KQS aims to help and support all types of builders. KQS has also undertaken work for builders in Sydney and is planning to expand into Victoria in the coming year. Despite the firm’s small size, KQS deliberately limits the number of projects it takes on at any given time. This approach ensures that each client receives the meticulous attention to detail that has become the firm’s hallmark.
